Night to Shine celebrates prom for all

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Most high school students dream of their prom night, but for people with special needs it can be a challenge enjoying the night so many take for granted. To change that, the Tim Tebow Foundation started Night to Shine, a prom event for people of all abilities. This past Friday, Bethel Church in Rapid City joined over 700 churches around the world to show their love and support for people with special needs. The evening was a night filled with dancing, fun and laughter.

The event was held at the old Herberger’s at the mall and included dinner, limousine rides, and games. There was even a crowd cheering for guests walking down the red carpet. For those wanting to really get fancy, there were also hairstylists and makeup artists on hand.

In preparation for the event, Bethel Church has spent the last few weekends helping with dress and tuxedo shopping and fittings, and training for volunteers. Overall the event was a great success with around 1,000 people coming out to make the night special.
