NewsCenter1 visits with Sturgis Williams Middle School students
STURGIS, S.D. – Youngsters in Sturgis on Wednesday got a taste of what it’s like to be a television reporter.
NewsCenter1’s own Justin Wickersham and Calvin Cutler visited a seventh grade class at Sturgis Williams Middle School. They talked about what it’s like to work in the industry and tell the stories of community members. They also brought in a camera to demonstrate how reporters gather video and interviews for the evening news.
Calvin and Justin then fielded questions about what an average day is like and reporting in the age of digital media. They also talked about covering breaking news, local sports, and politics.
