NewsCenter1 helps raise awareness for Salvation Army Bell Ringers
RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Salvation Army’s Bell Ringers can be seen throughout Black Hills communities and the NewsCenter1 crew helped man the kettle for the cause.
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign not only helps Black Hills families during the holidays but also helps meet their needs all year long.
This is one of the Salvation Army’s biggest fundraisers of the year, making the need for Bell Ringers crucial.
A rewarding experience that helps those in our community.
“I had an experience one time where a lady came in and dropped her change in the kettle and she said well the salvation army a couple years ago helped me, this gives me the opportunity to help the salvation army. And you hear those kinds of stories all the time when you’re ringing the bell,” said NewsCenter1 Chief Meteorologist Bob Riggio.
There is still a need for volunteers to ring those bells.
