New owner coming to Staple & Spice, downtown Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A business that has served downtown Rapid City will be going under new ownership in the new year.

Staple and Spice Market will have new owners in just a few days when Carol Pugh hands the keys to the new owner Tammy Yanders.

“It’s been nice in Rapid City to have a small niche here,” said Pugh. “We’ve only been growing — that’s where I hope Tammy will take the store, to the next level.”

Pugh bought the store in 1991 from the original owner, and is ready to retire after 28 years. The new owner has experience in health and wellness, working as a nurse and fitness instructor.

“Carol has done an amazing job getting the store where it is,” Yanders said. “I just […] hope to continue to grow and improve what our community wants.”

Yanders will officially begin as the new owner the week of January 6.
