New Orthopedic and Specialty Hospital now open

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Regional health’s orthopedic and specialty care hospital is officially open. The project has been under construction for over 2 years and was a total of $55 million. The 125,000 square foot facility is packed with the newest and greatest medical equipment. 

The building houses 10 inpatient beds, surgical units, medical imaging, and specialty care. Specialty care includes weight management, wound care and neurosurgery.

All of the medical professionals are thoroughly trained and up to date on the modern medical equipment. They training with life-sized dolls for real-life medical situations.

They assure that they meet safety and sanitation protocols. The surgical unit is sanitized on a normal basis and all people who enter must wear scrubs and wash hands.

Perhaps the most innovative section of the building is their gym. The gym is open to the public, but it has designated equipment used for physical therapy. It has everything for your favorite cardio machines to a heavy bag for boxing. They also have the largest inflatable batting cage in the country, which stretches out to 14 feet.

The facility caters to both inpatient and outpatient clients. For specialty services, it is recommended that you get a referral from your primary care physician
