New nonstop flights from Sioux Falls to San Diego to begin this summer

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Allegiant Airlines announced Tuesday a new route from Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD) to San Diego International Airport (SAN) will begin June 5, 2020.

“We’re thrilled to continue our expansion in Sioux Falls by adding another desirable West Coast destination,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. “Area travelers will enjoy our convenient nonstop service to scenic coastlines and warm, sunny beaches.”

The new seasonal route will operate twice weekly through Sioux Falls Regional Airport.

“We are thrilled with Allegiant’s decision to add San Diego to their list of seven destinations served out of Sioux Falls this summer,” said Dan Letellier, Sioux Falls Regional Airport Executive Director.

Currently at Rapid City Regional Airport, Allegiant Airlines offers nonstop flights to Las Vegas and Phoenix. According to airport administration they will be offering the seasonal nonstop flights from Rapid City to San Francisco again this summer.
