Nestlé recalls limited quantity of DiGiorno Crispy Pan Crust Pepperoni Pizza due to mislabeling
ARLINGTON, V.A. — Nestlé USA, Inc. is recalling a limited amount of DiGiorno Crispy Pan Crust Pepperoni Pizza due to potential mislabeling.
The affected pizzas are labeled as a “pepperoni pizza” but are in fact “three meat pizza,” which contain soy in the beef topping and sausage crumbles. Nestlé warns that people who are allergic to soy could have an allergic reaction.
The following product is subject to recall:
- 26 oz. boxes, containing pizza in a tray with a plastic overwrap, labeled, “DiGiorno Crispy Pan Crust Pepperoni Pizza” with a manufacturing date of June 30, 2021, “best by” date of March 2022 and batch code 1181510721. The “best by” date of March 2022 and batch code appear on the side of the package.
The limited quantity of the product with the mislabeled packaging was distributed to retailers in the U.S. only and produced on June 30, 2021. No other production dates of DiGiorno Crispy Pan Crust Pepperoni Pizza or other DiGiorno products are impacted by this recall.
Nestlé says anyone concerned about an injury, illness or allergic reaction should contact a healthcare provider. Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume them and should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. For consumers who are not allergic to soy, Nestlé says there is no safety issue with this product.
