Native Pop: People of the Plains Art and Culture festival

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Culture can be expressed in many ways whether it’s food, music or art. The Native Pop festival combined all of those and more.

Native Pop had an art market set up on 6th street and at Main Street Square all weekend. It featured original artwork from Native American artists and all of the art was inspired by Great Plains culture.

There were many forms of art ranging from paintings, handcrafted quilts and skirts as well as jewelry. People were welcome to buy pieces of art at the market and create their own art.

There was also a film festival which featured documentaries, short films, and music videos all centered around Native American culture.

The night ended with a fashion show and concert.
