National Weather Service releases snowfall totals for April storm

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City National Weather Service has released snowfall totals for the April winter storm that hit this week.

If you thought you had it bad, you may want to check out some of your neighbors.

Areas in Deadwood recorded 29 inches, while Piedmont had 18 inches. Rapid City saw a foot of snow in places and Ellsworth Air Force Base saw 17 inches.

According to the Rapid City National Weather Service, which compiled the data for snowfall totals, this is the sixth snowiest winter the NWS has on record for the area. The 2008 to 2009 winter season was the snowiest.
