Names released in I-90 rollover

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Box Elder man has been identified as the person who died in a one-vehicle crash in Rapid City Tuesday night.

Alan Edwards, 32, was westbound on Interstate 90 when his 2005 Saturn Vue entered the median, crossed the eastbound lanes, went into the ditch and eventually rolled.

The vehicle was also carrying a passenger, Amanda Edwards of Box Elder, 33. Both occupants were not wearing seat belts and were thrown from the vehicle.

Alan Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene, and Amanda Edwards sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Rapid City hospital.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and all information is preliminary at this time.
