Pine Ridge murder suspect taken into custody in north Rapid City; victim identified
UPDATE (6:00 p.m.): Colton Bagola has been taken into custody in north Rapid City for a Federal 2nd-degree homicide arrest warrant.
According to Rapid City Police Chief Karl Jegeris, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety are investigating this case.
RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police are surrounding a home in the 300 block of Curtis Street in north Rapid City where a murder suspect is believed to be barricaded.
According to Communications Specialist with the RCPD, Brendyn Medina, “highly credible information” leads law enforcement to believe Colton Bagola, 26, is barricaded inside a home. Bagola is wanted in connection to a Pine Ridge homicide Tuesday. Oglala Sioux Tribe Police Chief Robert Ecoffey identifies Tuesday’s victim as 30-year-old Sloane Bull Bear.
Medina says the law enforcement presence has been “off and on” all day.
The Pennington County and Rapid City Special Response Team is on scene, working to resolve the situation.
