Multi-vehicle accident involving semis reported on I-90 in Sturgis

STURGIS, S.D. — According to Meade County Emergency Management, at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Monday, law enforcement, fire, and medical services responded to a call for a multi-vehicle accident on I-90 eastbound near Exit 30.

At least 12 vehicles were involved in the accident, including five tractor-trailers, one delivery truck, three pick-up trucks, and three cars.

No information has been provided yet regarding a cause or potential injuries.

Agencies on-scene included Sturgis Fire Department, Sturgis Ambulance, Sturgis Police Department, Meade County Sheriffs Department, South Dakota Highway Patrol, South Dakota DOT, and Meade County Emergency Management.

South Dakota DENR has been notified of fuel and engine fluid spills relating to the accident.
