Mountain West Beer Fest

A community weather outlook

Saturday November 9th, the 3rd annual Mountain West Beer Fest will take place at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The doors will open at 1 pm but VIP ticket holders can get an early tasting with doors opening at 12 pm. The event boasts over 200 different craft beers from 50 different  local, regional and national breweries that will be available for sampling. There will also be music, a beard contest and games, such as human Foosball, Corn Hole, and sumo wrestling suits. With Veterans Day right around the corner, the Rapid City Rush will also host a Veterans Appreciation game Saturday evening from 7-9 pm.

Temperatures will peak for the week on Saturday with a high of 64° and lows in the upper 20s, making for a great start to the weekend. Saturday will be mostly sunny, and more fall like than we’ve seen recently. Other than gusty winds, it is panning out to be a perfectly beautiful day.

Afternoon temperatures will be about 63° with a possibility of wind gusts as high as 30 mph associated with a passing frontal system, but that should not impact travel to or from the event.  Late Saturday evening and overnight snow is expected. While it should not be an issue for beer fest or Rush game attendees, rain/snow will likely begin around midnight, and for those hanging around Rapid City for the evening, be aware of slippery conditions and icy roads. Overall the day will be great and weather will not put a damper on your Saturday plans. Have a great weekend, stay safe and enjoy the warm weather!
