Motorcycle parking in downtown Rapid City to remain free during Rally
Metered spaces to be turned off in designated areas
RAPID CITY, S.D. — With new parking changes in downtown Rapid City, motorcyclists can enjoy the same free parking areas as in years past during the week of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Designated parking areas will be sectioned off on Main Street and St. Joseph Street during the week of the Rally. Any parking meters in the sectioned off areas will be turned off during the week.
“By and large we are doing what we normally do,” said Darrell Shoemaker, Communications Coordinator with Rapid City. “Free parking for motorcyclists downtown during Rally week.”
As always, off-limits parking zones for motorcyclists apply to leased parking areas.
In weeks surrounding the Rally, motorcyclists will have to abide by the new metered parking that apply to all other motorists.
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is set to kick off August 2nd and run through August 11.
