Mother facing child neglect charges

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A Fargo mother is facing child neglect charges after police say her hungry children were found in a home with no running water and plumbing issues.

Police say they were sent to the home earlier this month to do a welfare check on a 6-year-old girl after she missed several days of school. Officers say they found two children hiding in an upstairs bedroom and the mother in a closet. They say several doors were barricaded and there was broken glass in the home.

Authorities say the children told police they could not remember when they had eaten last.
