Thirsty’s is the happening spot for more than just burgers and beer. Thirsty’s hosts Marathon of the Minds trivia league on Wednesday nights. It’s not too late to put together a team. Play your cards right and there are fabulous prizes up for grabs, including the motorcycle pictured below. Thirsty’s is also the gathering spot for SDSU fans who had the privilege of celebrating SDSU’s first FCS National Championship on January 8, 2023. Thirsty’s opened specifically for this game and their patrons, which is an available option when it’s a locally owned restaurant.

Featuring an authentic and fabulous red pork posole soup to begin the meal allows the customer to get acquainted with more of the traditional Mexican fare. The soup consists of some ingredients that may be less familiar such as hominy, which is corn that has been treated with lye. The soup is also layered with several different types of chilies adding to the depth of flavor without blowing out your pallet with heat. The soup is topped with cilantro and chopped red onion which provides a wonderful textural component. The soup is  accompanied by a Street Taco Burger that features more authentic Mexican flavors including carne asada seasoning, cojita cheese and a delicious mango habanero sauce made in-house. Don’t let the habanero portion of the sauce, scare you off.  If spicy food is not really your thing, the combination of the mango habanero sauce complimented by the cooling crema lime sauce makes this dish delectable for even the wimpiest of connoisseurs. The finishing touch to your meal is a delicious mango guava cheesecake served with a raspberry coulis. Of course, Thirsty’s also offers a huge selection of draft beer that is sure to not disappoint.

Head downtown Rapid City for restaurant week and be sure to check in at Thirsty’s! This is one special you won’t want to miss.
