Monument Health to provide support during Black Hills Stock Show

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Along with other vendors, Monument Health will also be busy during the stock show.

Vendor set-up began this week, and Monument felt the concerns over COVID were too important not to participate this year. Monument Health will be set up in the ice arena, primarily for COVID issues. Answering questions concerning testing, vaccinations and so-on.

“We really felt it was incumbent upon us, monument health, to be here and represent, and to make sure that all the patrons of the black hills stock show and rodeo were able to get the most up-to-date information, especially concerning COVID,” said Monuments community relations specialist, Cory Ferguson. “So that we can just be a resource for everybody coming in, and we felt it was really a necessity for us to be a part of this great event.”

Monument will be giving short-turnaround COVID tests, but only to people who are asymptomatic. The experts say for those with symptoms — they should go through normal health-care channels and schedule an appointment with a provider. Tetanus shots, shingles vaccines and others will be administered in the ice arena, as many people have avoided normal vaccines during COVID-19.
