Monument Health prepares to open new dialysis clinic

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Monument Health is preparing to open a new facility in Rapid City that will make treatment easier for their dialysis patients.

The new 16,000 square foot outpatient dialysis clinic at Dakota Market Square near the old K-Mart is replacing the old dialysis location on Flormann Street.

The clinic will have 36 stations helping Monument Health keep ahead of the growing need for treatment in the community.

And the ground level facility means patients in wheelchairs will no longer have to navigate elevators.

Another factor monument took into consideration for the new clinic was a location that’s convenient for the majority of their patients.

“When we were designing the clinic we looked at the patient demographic, and where the new patients and existing patients were coming out of and north and east Rapid was primarily coming from, so we have that in addition we have closer access to the highway as well,” said Monument Health Director of Dialysis Mike Thompson.

Monument Health will spend the rest of the week moving into the new facility before opening their doors December 6.
