Monument Health kicks off Community Health Summit

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Monument Health will be hosting a Community Health Summit during the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo Rapid City at The Monument from Friday, January 28 through Saturday, February 5.

They will be offering free and discounted preventative screenings and lab draws as well as health and nutrition education at the entrance of the Rodeo Zone in the Ice Arena.

Monument Health caregivers will provide a variety of vaccinations to attendees, including the COVID-19 vaccine. At-home COVID-19 test kits will also be offered to anyone who needs one.

Information will be offered at the Education Center where visitors can take it home and review it when they have time.

During the Community Health Summit, all Monument Health Employees will wear masks at all times, and all attendees will be required to wear masks.

“We feel it’s extremely important to meet people where they’re at, and that’s exactly what we’re doing at the Community Health Summit,” said Monument Health’s Community Relations Specialist Anna Whetham. “We know there are no sick days on the ranch, and we want to be able to provide preventive care and access to knowledgeable health professionals to help our neighbors live long, healthy and productive lives.”

Other events at the Community Health Summit will include:

  • Monument Health Food and Nutrition Chef Scott Brinker who will talk about food and nutrition, and will share recipes.
  • Kids Zone featuring interactive activities for children of all ages.
  • The Monument Health Foundation will be selling Tough Enough to Wear Pink t-shirts.
