Monument Health in Spearfish holds flu clinic

SPEARFISH, S.D. — While the pandemic has changed most everything this year, it’s also brought about a new emphasis on getting a flu shot.

Monument Health in Spearfish held a flu clinic on Tuesday inoculating those who came out.

Healthcare workers say that by getting the flu shot you’re helping to leave hospitals available for those who truly need care.

“This is more important this Fall than ever to get our flu vaccination during this time of the pandemic with COVID-19.” Said Jane Pierce-McPherson, Monument Health Urgent Care in Spearfish. “Not only to reduce your risk from getting the flu but also to converse our potentially scarce health care resources and lessen the burden on our health care system.”

If you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 Monument Health advises you to stay home until the symptoms go away before coming in for your flu shot. Monument Health in Spearfish is holding two more flu vaccination clinics, one on October 27 from 8-5 and the other on Veterans Day, November 11th, from 8-5 as well.
