Montana-Dakota Utilities natural gas supply issue resolved

UPDATE: Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. announced Thursday afternoon that their natural gas supply problem was resolved.

According to the company, “operating conditions have returned to normal.”

The company thanked its customers for reducing their usage to assist with the supply disruption.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. asked customers on Wednesday night to reduce natural gas usage until further notice.

MDU said that their natural gas supplier is experiencing supply constraints due to an equipment issue and extreme weather conditions.

MDU suggests lowering the thermostat as much as possible, minimizing hot water usage, and turning off non-essential natural gas appliances like fireplaces and garage heaters.

“With customers’ cooperation, MDU expects it will maintain service to natural gas customers in the region,” the company said.
