Mobile home, vehicles destroyed in Pine Ridge fire

PINE RIDGE, S.D. – Several fire agencies were called out Tuesday evening to battle a mobile home fire in Pine Ridge.

According to the Martin Volunteer Fire Department, no one was in the mobile home, which was destroyed in the fire, along with three vehicles and several trees.

The vehicle fires caused several small explosions. Three other occupied structures and a propane tank were threatened by the blaze but were not damaged.

In addition to Martin, units from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Oglala Sioux Tribe’s emergency management, ambulance and police department helped contain the situation.

No one was injured fighting the fire, and the cause is being investigated.
