Missouri man sentenced for child porn charges after Rally sex sting

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Missouri man has been sentenced for attempted receipt of child pornography after he was busted in an undercover sex trafficking operation during the 2017 Sturgis Motorcyle Rally.

Donald Scott Baker, 47, received five years in prison followed by five years of supervised release after he communicated with someone he believed to be associated with a 15-year-old girl.

She was, in fact, an undercover agent. He tried to arrange a meeting with her to engage in sexual acts, and also requested pornographic images of the minor.

The undercover operation and arrests were a joint effort between the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Rapid City Police Department, and the Pennington County Sheriff’s office.

Baker was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
