Minnesota man sentenced to 20 years on attempted enticement of Rapid City minor

PIERRE S.D. –  A Jordan, Minnesota man was sentenced for his crimes involving a Rapid City minor.  He was found guilty of attempted enticement of a minor using the internet and receipt of child pornography.

Rodney Allen Buetow, age 36, was convicted due to communication with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts. Beutow drove from Minnesota to Rapid City to meet the 14-year-old and was arrested at their pre-arranged meeting location.

The investigation also found possession of child pornography videos and images on Beutow’s cell phone.

According to a statement released earlier today by the State of South Dakota United States Attorney, he was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $200 fine.

The investigation was conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

Beutow was immediately taken into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
