Minimum-security inmate placed on escape status

Timothy MitchellRAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Community Work Center has placed a minimum-security inmate on escape status.

Inmate Timothy Mitchell failed to return to the Rapid City Community Work Center at the appointed time following a shift at his work release job on Wednesday, October 6.

Mitchell, 38, is described as a 5-foot-8inch Native American male. He weights approximately 190 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Mitchell is currently serving two sentences for possession of a controlled substance from Butte County.
