Military Advisory Coalition looking to help military members connect to community
The goal of the new coalition is to have all resources in one place for new military members coming to the area.
RAPID CITY, S.D. — There’s a new coalition here in the Black Hills area to support all the new airmen and their families as Ellsworth Air Force Base ramps up for the arrival of the B-21.
The Black Hills Military Advisory Coalition will help the new military members get acclimated to the area and help them find all resources from various organizations around the area in one place.
Forming the coalition has been in the works for the past several months.
Members say it’s important for the community to come together to serve a greater need.
“That’s where it started,” said Chariman Jack Lynass. “We found that everybody was kinda doing their own thing but nobody was really communicating with each other and it just made sense to come together under one roof.”
Lynass says that when military members arrive, they even look forward to helping them find their way off the base and around the Black Hills.
