Micah Swallow selected to play in All-Star game

SALEM, S.D. – The 33rd Annual 3-Class All-Star basketball shootout is taking place on Saturday, March 27 at the McCook Central Gymnasium in Salem.

Some of the top seniors from across the state will be participating including Micah Swallow from Rapid City Central.

Swallow helped lead the Cobblers to a 11-9 record this season.

But Central lost to Aberdeen Central in the So-Dak 16.

Swallow averaged over 22 points and 10 rebounds per game this year.

Central boys basketball coach TJ Hay isn’t surprised that Swallow was selected to compete with the top players from around the state.

“If you look at team of guys he gets to play with, Matt Mors, basically all the good seniors that played in the state tournament,” TJ Hay said. “That will be really fun for him. It’ll be experience that a lot of players don’t get to experience. I think it’ll be a fun game to watch and he’s going to enjoy it.”

A few other local basketball players will be participating in the all-star game on Saturday.

They include Brady Fritz from Winner, Caelyn Valandra-Prue from White River and Kalla Bertram from Winner.
