Classes are tailored to fit the participant.

Ryan McGivern, Owner of Meraki Box and personal trainer/boxing coach, says,  “Boxing includes everything from basic skill, stability and balance all the way up to athleticism and power. I’ve trained anyone from eight years old just with coordination to 88 years old; somebody with Parkinson’s Disease. My goal with boxing is to show everybody that boxing is for everybody. Most boxing gyms are looking for that one in a million to create a champion – I want to help create a champion in everybody who walks through the door.”

McGivern, who began his professional career as a nurse, began boxing at the age of 14, and says although some boxing gyms can be intimidating, participants to his classes will encompass everyone at every level.

McGivern says, “Boxing, we call it the sweet science, because everything we do is built in a specific manner to build the best-rounded athlete we can. You don’t have to come in here and know how to box, your exception is to come in here, give me 100%, whatever that means for you.”
