Meals on Wheels looking for volunteer drivers

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Meals on Wheels provides food for senior citizens all over Rapid City.

Each week they serve thousands of people. With many to feed they often find themselves low on drivers.

Meals on Wheels runs solely on volunteers and is asking the community for help. Those who volunteer will take an hour out of their day to deliver to those who may need help getting meals in.

“Around 500 meals daily, Monday through Friday and so, of course, we’re always in need of volunteer drivers. It takes 105 and volunteer drivers each week to get the meals out,” said Cheree Pederson, the coordinator.

If you’re interested in being a driver you can call Cheree at 605-394-6002.
