Marketplace Pop Up

A community weather outlook

The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center will hold its first Marketplace Pop Up Saturday November16th. RWhite Events, which specializes in connecting small businesses with the community, will host the event. With over 80 vendors, this will be the ultimate shopping experience. There will even be a Botox booth and spa for those interested. While there are plenty of farmers markets and flea markets in the Black Hills region, this will be a stand-alone event, following the pop up craze that is taking the retail world by storm. Pop-up markets allow small businesses as well as brick-and-mortar retailers and vendors to provide a more personalized shopping experience for consumers, and are particularly popular around holidays. Along with offering great deals and a unique shopping experience, Marketplace Pop Up will offer the first 100 shoppers a mystery gift card to use with any vendor during the show.

Aside from being a bit wet, Saturday will be mostly mild. Rain is expected to start in the morning and isolated showers will remain throughout the day. Highs will be in the high 40s to low 50s, with lows in the high 20s. With that, roads may become a bit slick, so evening travelers will want to remain alert and drive cautiously. Winds will also be a bit breezy with predominately northwesterly winds 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph. As the event is indoors, a bit of rain and chill will not be a huge factor, just be sure to have an umbrella handy. If you’re still in need of winter gear or holiday gifts, you’re almost certainly guaranteed to find something unique for you and your loved ones.
