Man’s best friends strut their stuff

The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is playing host to a Best in Show competition this weekend

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Dogs of all shapes and sizes gathered in the Don Barnett Arena Friday to compete for Best in Show.

The Rapid City Kennel Club put on the event for everyone to enjoy.

Vendors and grooming services provided royal treatment to man’s best friend before they were presented to the judges.

Dogs can be judged on anything ranging from eyes, ears, muzzle, thickness of whiskers and even on the curliness of a tail.

Based on breed, even the attitude of the dog can be judged. Judges generally look for proud poodles and cheerful beagles among other examples.

The show will be continuing both this Saturday and Sunday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center for those interested from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
