Manderson man served federal arrest warrant
PINE RIDGE, S.D. — The Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety is reporting that a federal arrest warrant has been served to Sequoyah West Sr of Manderson.
The charges of the arrest warrant stem from federal drug conspiracy charges relating to distributing over 500 grams of methamphetamine. This charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years of incarceration. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
West is already in custody in Pine Ridge, on charges relating to drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Badlands Safe Trails Drug Task Force, which served the warrant, is made up of agents from the FBI, OST Dept of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, Bureau of Indian Affairs Division of Drug Enforcement, SD Division of Criminal Investigations and the Martin Police Department.
