Man pulled from Rapid Creek after jumping off Elk Vale Road bridge

RAPID CITY, SD — Multiple RCFD companies assisted the PennCo Sheriff and RCPD in rescuing an unidentified man who jumped from the Elk Vale Road bridge into Rapid Creek Monday morning.

The man was spotted walking with no shoes along the Elk Vale Road bridge. Witnesses say he jumped into Rapid Creek and was carried downstream, where emergency crews were able to successfully rescue him after being called on scene.

He was then transported by medical personnel for further examination.

So far the man has not been identified, and it is unclear if there are charges pending against him.
