MADD hosts police officer luncheon
Mothers Against Drunk Driving hosted a lunch on Christmas Day for local law enforcement, a way to say thank you for keeping our community safe.
As a thank you to police on Christmas duty , Mothers Against Drunk Driving surprised staff at the Rapid City Police Department with a luncheon.
For two years members of MADD have making food for police on Christmas Day.
The organization has seen the effect drunk driving has had on the community and urges those celebrating with alcohol to designate a sober driver.
Connie Hobbs, Lead Volunteer for SD MADD, says, “Law enforcement, you just can’t stop. So law enforcement needs to be out protecting our communities, so we just [brought] a small gesture, brought them lunch, and will be serving lunch to them just to say thank you.”
RCPD and MADD would like to remind folks to never drive under the influence. Also make sure to buckle seat belts for you and your children in case of an accident.
