Local plant store, winery team up for special Mother’s Day event

HILL CITY, S.D. – Flowers are usually a go-to gift on Mother’s Day, but they only last so long.

Some Of The Terrariums Made By AttendeesAt the Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City, Rapid City’s newest plant store, Uprooted, transplanted their wares and held a Sip and Plant event for moms, featuring a longer-lasting plant option.

The event, which was sold-out, gave those in attendance the opportunity to build their own living terrariums while enjoying a glass of wine.

“Everybody loves to buy their moms flowers, but they always die” Plant Specialist with Uprooted Tara Yonce said. “So we like to provide people with the chance to keep their plants alive still and we like to tell them how to do that and inform people how to keep their houseplants alive, too.”

Uprooted is located at 806 St. Joseph Street, next door to Hippie Haven.
