Local Author adds to collection of books
Renie Smith has been a resident of Rapid City for 65 years penned her first poem at age of 12 and now has made a collection of poems to share along with her 2 other novels.
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City woman, Renie Smith, has been writing her whole life. With two books published, she has now come out with a collection of poems.
Smith’s book of poems called ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ expresses feelings about life experiences. She hopes to entertain readers at every stage in life.
She also makes greeting cards for friends with the poems in them for all occasions.
Smith says, “I’ve been writing poems for years and I have over 500 and so narrowing it down to 92 was a chore but that is what this little book is, its got 92 poems and some are inspirational some are congratulations and some are sympathy, and some are new babies and then there is some that are just me being goofy.”
Smith has another book in the works that takes place in the Black Hills like her previous novels.
Josie’s Handyman and Tangled Web are out now and she has another novel in the works.
Smith also enjoys gardening, knit, croucheting and bead weaving.
