Little League: Spearfish, Belle Fourche eliminated from Sub-District Tournaments

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Four Little League teams faced elimination on Saturday at the West River Sub-District Tournaments in Rapid City.

Timberline squared off against Spearfish in the first game followed by Rushmore and Belle Fourche.


Timberline 14, Spearfish 4

In the ‘B’ bracket, Timberline defeated Spearfish 14-4.

The game was tied at four after two innings. But Timberline scored seven runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

Timberline finished with 15 hits, getting three from Ian Beer and two each from Braydon Fox and Max Phares.

Timberline will play Harney on Sunday at 12 p.m. in the ‘B’ bracket title game. Timberline must beat Harney twice in order to win the championship.



Rushmore 11, Belle Fourche 0

Rushmore will play for the ‘A’ bracket title on Sunday after shutting out Belle Fourche, 11-0.

Rushmore jumped out to an early lead by scoring six runs in the first inning.

Dexter Steen paced Rushmore with three hits and three RBIs. Trevor Wilcox also had three hits.

Rushmore will play Canyon Lake on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rushmore has to beat Canyon lake twice in order to win the ‘A’ bracket title.

Bracket ‘A’

Canyon Lake vs Rushmore     2:30 p.m.

If Rushmore wins, they will play a second game at 5 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.



Bracket ‘B’

Harney vs Timberline    12 p.m.

If Timberline wins, they will play a second game at 5 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
