Lipstick sales see increases in the U.S. post-pandemic

LipstickThe masks are coming off post-pandemic, and lipstick is going on. That’s good news for retailers ahead of Black Friday, as one beauty analyst says lipstick sales are up 37 percent through October.

In fact, The NPD Group says lipstick is the only major category in prestige beauty where sales are up compared to pre-pandemic sales.

That means lipstick sales, which suffered during the pandemic, appear to be making up for lost time.

Major retailers like Macy’s, Target and Kohl’s say cosmetic sales like lipstick are helping to freshen up their outlook for the holiday season.
