Lightning Sparks Wildfire in Custer State Park
The Grace Creek Fire is being worked on by local, state and federal resources and is located close to Center Lake
CUSTER, S.D.- A Wildfire 2 miles east of Center Lake in Custer State Park was reported Saturday at 12:58 PM.
The size right now is estimated to be 8 acres, with lightning thought to be the cause of the fire.
Resources including single-engine air tankers, an air attack plane and a type three helicopter have all been sent to the scene.
Entities from local, state and federal levels are working together to contain the fire.
No evacuations have been noted, will we update with any further information as it becomes available.
Isolated thunderstorms, along with temperatures in the 80s are expected for the area through the holiday weekend.
