Lemonade stand raises over $32,000, writes check for St. Jude’s Hospital
STURGIS, S.D. — Wyatt Dennis is a young man who owns a lemonade stand near Sturgis that raised over $32,000 for the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Minneapolis. Wyatt wrote the check on Friday.
His free lemonade stand started off as a way for him to raise money for college and get himself a Lego set, but also included a way to give back to the hospital.
Robin Dennis, Wyatt’s mother, says that it will continue to be a way to donate to St. Jude’s.
“It did get way bigger than anybody ever thought it would, but it’s been a really neat opportunity and we’re really excited that change had stepped in and and recognized it, and that we can give this money why it can give this money to,” said Robin. “Them and that he will continue to be able to to do this. It’s not just a one year thing.”
Wyatt opens his lemonade stand every year during the Rally, so make sure to make it down next year.
