Lead celebrating annual Winterfest this January

LEAD, S.D. — Winterfest will be kicking off in Lead on Friday, January 18th. The festival, which celebrates the winter season both on and off the mountain, runs through the weekend and features music, mixers, kids activities, contests and much more.

The event begins on Friday at 3 p.m. at Lotus Up cafe with a Chilli Tasting Contest, followed by a Pub Crawl.

For the younger crowd, there will be a free Kids Yoga session at the Handley Center at 4 p.m. This will be followed by Family Skate Night at the center, and then music at the Stampmill Restaurant and Bob’s Silver Star.

Events will also be held throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, including a Parade of Lights and Fireworks on Saturday and a snowshoe hike on Sunday.
