Law enforcement prepares teams for Rally

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. – Where there are big crowds, crime is inevitable.

Agencies across the Black Hills have prepared their teams for the Sturgis Rally.

Most incidents during the Rally involve motorcycle crashes, drug use, intoxication, and human trafficking.

Here in Pennington County the Sheriff’s Office says they’re prepared for whatever comes their way.

“We add additional staffing in Hill City and Keystone and the other roads in western Pennington County. We do have additional personnel out patrolling the streets and walking foot patrol,” says Lt. Dustin Morrison, with PCSO.

The Sheriff’s Office will continue with the extra manning until the Rally is over.
