Lanes on Cambell Street to be closed for repairs

RAPID CITY, S.D. -Starting this Thursday, a 10-week road construction project will begin on Cambell Street in Rapid City. The street will be narrowed to a single lane in each direction.

Both northbound lanes and the center turn lane will be closed from East Omaha street to St. Patrick Street.

Crews will be installing new pavement panels for that entire strip.

“The daily count is about 25-thousand/26-thousand cars on that stretch of road per day. So again, a lot of wear and tear on that stretch of road and so it’s a need project and we’re trying to get that in before the winter season gets in,” said Darrell Shoemaker, the City Communication Coordinator.

The city recommends commuters take an alternate route. Construction should be completed by the end of November.
