Lance Lehmann, Bill Evans re-elected as council leaders for 2022-23 term

RAPID CITY, S.D. — On Tuesday, the Rapid City Council elected officers for the upcoming 2022-23 term.

Ward Four Council member Lance Lehmann and Ward Two council member Bill Evans were re-elected in their positions.

Lehmann ran unopposed and was re-elected as president. Evans edged Ritchie Nordstrom to be re-elected as vice president.

The City of Rapid City stated that the roles of the council president and vice president are to serve the city in a leadership capacity, oversee committee operations and make appearances at community functions and events.

Lehmann and Evans joined Jesse Ham in Ward One, Greg Strommen in Ward Three and Pat Roseland in Ward five in taking oaths of office and were sworn in for new three-year terms on the council.
