Kyah Watson voted Class AA all-state first team

Rapid City Stevens girls basketball coach Travis Swartz named Region IV Coach of the Year

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Kyah Watson, a senior at Rapid City Stevens, has been named to the Class ‘AA’ girls basketball all-state first team.

Watson averaged 14 points, eight rebounds and two assists per game this season, along with 42 steals.

She also led the Raiders to a 20-1 record this year.

Watson will play women’s basketball next year at University of South Dakota in Vermillion.

 

 

Travis Swartz, Region IV Coach of the Year

Meanwhile, Rapid City Stevens girls basketball head coach, Travis Swartz, has been named the Region IV Girls Basketball Coach of the Year.

Travis Swartz has named the Region IV Girls Basketball Coach of the Year.

Swartz was an assistant coach for the Stevens girls basketball program for five years before taking over as the head coach this season.

The Raiders posted a 20-1 record and qualified for the State ‘AA’ tournament for the seventh year in a row.

If the state tournament is still held in June, Rapid City Stevens will be the number two seed.
