Knights of Columbus to provide curbside pickup for free Thanksgiving Meals
RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Knights of Columbus is once again providing free Thanksgiving meals, except this year there will be no dining in.
The pandemic has forced the Knights of Columbus to rethink old traditions, so this year’s meals will be available for pickup only at Saint Thomas More High School, with volunteers providing turkey dinner with all the trimmings curbside.
After 38-years, this will be the first year there will be no indoor dining.
“I don’t think anybody would have guessed this was coming,” said Fred Berendse of the Knights of Columbus. “But we take it as it comes and we’re thankful that we have the opportunity to put it on.”
Those interested in picking up a meal can stop at Saint Thomas More today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the front parking lot.
People on foot can also pick up meals in the back of the school. Visitors are asked to wear a mask.
