Journey Museum explores history of Pennington County Sheriff’s Office

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Journey Museum and Learning Center is hosting a discussion on Friday, Feb. 22 on the “History of the Pennigton County Sheriff’s Office” at 12 p.m.

Led by Helene Duhamel, the discussion will explore the early history of settling Pennington County and the role of the sheriff in that time.

Stories of past jailbreaks and current events at the sheriff’s office will be shared as well. Sheriff Kevin Thom, along with local author and historian Pat Roseland will be joining Duhamel, answering questions about the history of the sheriff’s office.
