Well into his 9th decade, Stanford Adelstein continues to live his values and impact society as an eminent South Dakotan, a proud American, and a Jewish man firmly rooted in his tradition and history.

Eric Zimmer wrote the book titled “The Question is Why?” an intimate look at the life of a true statesman. Adelstein is a Jewish man from South Dakota who was constantly being asked “How did you end up here” and “If there are any other Jewish people in South Dakota”. Stanford is an American politician and has had the opportunity to be a part of great change in this country.

Adelstein said, “The opportunity to convince a legislator, which at that time I knew nothing about. To ratify the 24th Amendment of the Constitution of the Untied States, to make it possible for black people to vote, the Voters Rights Amendment.”
