It’s time to catch a trout on Pactola!

PACTOLA, S.D. — The Black Hills are home to a variety of trout species, and Pactola Reservoir is fished year-round.

Many lakes in western South Dakota are known for a specific type of bite, like panfish or even pike, but Pactola houses all kinds of species. Shallow edges and deep pockets in the lake give anglers an opportunity to cover plenty of water and environments within the lake.

In this episode, Jim Bussell, Pro Staffer with Cold Snap Outdoors, catches (and releases) a couple of lake trout on Pactola.
