Indoor dog park with beer/wine bar proposed for Rushmore Mall

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City’s Planning Commission heard a proposal Thursday morning for a new kind of space to please two-legged and four-legged beings alike.

An indoor dog park is proposed for the former Payless Shoes site in Rushmore Mall. The park plans to feature a beer and wine bar and an off-leash area for dogs.

Planning Commission approved the use of the space but more details still need to fall into place before the space can become reality.

“We are waiting for final approval,” said Sandy Brockhouse, General Manager of Rushmore Mall.  “We are very excited about an idea about a dog park with a bar at the Rushmore Mall and it would be added to our other mixed uses.”
